The dust has finally settled, and here at Katch International, we have just started to catch our breath once again after the grand reveal event of the decade. The opening weekend for the iconic Atlantis The Royal was the global phenomenon of our time, from the star-studded lineup that descended on the venue, the blockbuster entertainment (including the jaw-dropping return of the musical icon Beyoncé), to the stunning architecture of this resort like no other, this opening weekend had it all. Crafted by the world’s leading designers, architects, and artists, the new resort hosted some of the world’s most recognisable faces for a three-day-long extravaganza of curated events and experiences across its “Grand Reveal Weekend” taking place from the 20th to 22nd of January.
As the PR and communication partner for the unrivaled grand reveal event, all at Katch International had their hands full, ensuring everything went off without a hitch. With over one thousand celebrities, influencers, and special guests gathering to witness all on offer at this sensational resort, it was a mammoth task. Still, we relished it and are proud to say it was an overwhelming success. The red carpet featured global A-listers, including Kendall Jenner, Rebel Wilson, Farhan Akhtar, Lojain Omran, Khaled Selim, Ellen Pompeo, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright; it was a genuinely enviable selection of the who’s who of famous faces.
On the PR front, Katch worked around the clock for nearly five months in the making and coordinating of an exclusive invite-only list of tier-one luxury media and talent from the GCC, all of whom were hand selected by the Atlantis Dubai team to experience a weekend where dreams really did come true. Media relations played a significant role in the grand reveal making it the talk of town for days and weeks to come. While we entertained and dazzled our media and talent, team Katch also conducted media tours and interviews for key spokespeople at the resort.
The guest list boasted media giants like leading English and Arabic dailies, including Al Bayan, Al Ittihad and Gulf News, and The National and Khaleej Times. Top lifestyle titles in attendance included GQ Middle East, Esquire ME, Grazia ME, Emirates Woman, What’s On Dubai, Time Out Dubai and leading broadcast shows like ET Bil Arabi, MBC Trending, and Abu Dhabi TV. As if that wasn’t enough, we also managed a list of over 100+ celebrities and guests that experienced all the resort had to offer, from a taste of epicurean dining experiences at the many celebrity restaurants at the property, parties hosted by Kendall Jenner and the 818 brand, an Ivy Park fashion show to bespoke spa treatments and more. There was so much to see and do during this whirlwind weekend!
The highlight of the weekend for all in attendance was the stunning opening performance of the one and only Beyoncé. Returning after a four-year hiatus, it was fitting that her return coincided with the opening of this epitome of ultra-luxury, Atlantis The Royal. The show started in a dazzling display with fireworks exploding above the venue as the iconic artist opened the show singing Etta James 'At Last' into a gold microphone, before performing a set list of her well-known classics alongside a range of her best hits before she was levitated above the water and fire fountains as she belted out "Drunk in Love.”
Eight years in the making, Atlantis The Royal has been specifically designed to challenge the boundaries of imagination and reshape what ultra-luxury travel means. The Grand Reveal Weekend has firmly cemented Atlantis The Royal as an unmistakable icon in Dubai and worldwide.
